I actually bought two of those: one is a charger and one is a load control. Not that expensive actually! These controllers are so simple, I barely looked at the manual.

The Prostar 15 is a no-nonsense charge controller for good money. I have been using mine for a few days with a 100w solar array. I installed it in a matter of minutes on my boat. It gives off no noise or interference (I mounted it a couple feet away from my radios). There are many other chargers out there, but for the intended application, the Prostar is a solid choice at a great price.

If you're just starting out with a basic PV system, I definitely advise spending the extra dollars to get a controller like this one. The display makes it easy to detect any problems. Morningstar’s TriStar PWM controller provides safe battery charging, load control and diversion regulation in your system. One unit operates in one of these three modes at a time, but several regulators can do all of them at once.
