The EG4 6000XP is a 6,000W split-phase off-grid inverter/charger designed for 48V battery systems, capable of accepting up to 8,000W of PV input across two independent MPPTs while simultaneously powering 120/240 VAC loads and charging the battery bank. Built on a transformerless, high-frequency topology with a 100–480 VDC PV input range, this EG4 inverter charger operates fully independent of the grid and supports optional grid or generator input for supplemental battery charging — making it a flexible core component for off-grid cabins, backup power systems, and energy-independent homesteads.
Note: The EG4 6000XP is an off-grid inverter/charger, not a grid-tied export inverter. It accepts grid or generator input for supplemental charging only and cannot export power to the utility grid. Additionally, parallel operation of multiple units is supported only in off-grid mode — units cannot be paralleled while connected to the grid.
The 6000XP is built primarily for systems that operate independent of the utility grid, drawing power from PV and a 48V battery bank to supply split-phase 120/240 VAC loads. The 480V maximum DC input voltage allows higher-voltage PV strings that reduce cable sizing and eliminate the need for a combiner box — a practical wiring simplification on larger off-grid arrays. When grid or generator power is available, the unit can accept up to 9,000W of AC input through a 50A bypass for supplemental battery charging or pass-through to loads, but it does not feed excess power back to the grid.
