About product
Sol-Ark SA-30K-3P — 30kW Three-Phase All-in-One Commercial Hybrid Inverter
The Sol-Ark SA-30K-3P is a commercial-grade, pre-wired all-in-one hybrid inverter built for businesses, light industrial facilities, farms, and large residential properties that run on three-phase power. Delivering 30,000W of continuous three-phase AC output at 120/208V with four independent MPPT charge controllers, high-voltage battery support, a 200A transfer switch, and a blazing-fast 5ms transfer time, the SA-30K-3P is engineered to keep critical operations running — whether the grid is up or not. Fully pre-wired with rapid shutdown, AFCI, and GFCI built in, it installs faster and simpler than any competing multi-component system.
The SA-30K-3P delivers 30,000W of continuous AC output across balanced three-phase 120/208V — the standard voltage configuration for commercial buildings, agricultural facilities, light manufacturing, and multi-unit properties. Three-phase output means balanced load distribution across all phases, reduced wiring costs over single-phase systems of equivalent capacity, and compatibility with three-phase motors, HVAC equipment, and commercial appliances without the need for phase converters or additional hardware.
When grid power fails, the SA-30K-3P switches to battery backup in just 5 milliseconds — fast enough to keep sensitive electronics, PLCs, refrigeration systems, and commercial equipment running without interruption. For businesses where downtime means lost revenue or spoiled inventory, this near-seamless transfer is a critical operational advantage that standalone generators simply cannot match.
Four independent MPPT charge controllers accept up to 39,000W of DC solar input across a voltage range of 150–500V with a maximum input voltage of 550V and up to 36A per MPPT channel. Multiple independent trackers let you wire different roof sections, building faces, or ground-mount arrays into separate strings — eliminating cross-string shading losses and maximizing harvest across complex commercial rooftop configurations. Combined with AC coupling capability, total system solar input can exceed 39kW, supporting large commercial arrays without compromise.
Unlike residential inverters limited to 48V battery banks, the SA-30K-3P is engineered for high-voltage battery systems operating in the 150–550V range. High-voltage architecture delivers lower operating current, reduced wiring losses, thinner cable requirements, and greater round-trip efficiency at scale — all of which translate directly to lower installation cost and better long-term system performance for commercial deployments.
A fully integrated 200A transfer switch means no separate ATS hardware to purchase, wire, or permit. Grid-tied and backup operation is handled entirely within the inverter enclosure — simplifying the electrical design, reducing the panel footprint, and cutting installation labor. When grid power is available, up to 200A passes through seamlessly to your service panel. When the grid drops, the inverter takes over in 5ms without any manual switching.
The SA-30K-3P supports both DC-coupled and AC-coupled solar configurations. New installations benefit from the higher efficiency of direct DC coupling from panels to battery. Existing facilities with grid-tied inverters already installed can integrate the SA-30K-3P via AC coupling — adding battery backup and energy management to an existing solar investment without replacing working equipment. This makes the SA-30K-3P one of the most retrofit-friendly commercial inverters on the market.
For commercial customers subject to utility demand charges — which can represent 30–50% of a commercial electric bill — the SA-30K-3P's built-in energy management platform is a direct cost-reduction tool. The inverter monitors real-time consumption and dispatches stored battery energy during peak demand windows, shaving the spikes that trigger high demand charges before they register on the meter. Over a billing period, the cumulative savings from demand charge reduction alone can significantly accelerate system payback.
The SA-30K-3P supports Virtual Power Plant communication protocols, enabling participation in utility demand-response and grid services programs. When enrolled, the inverter can dispatch stored energy back to the grid during peak demand events — generating direct revenue or utility bill credits for the site owner. As VPP programs continue to expand across U.S. utility territories, Sol-Ark commercial customers are positioned to monetize their stored energy, not just offset their own consumption.
Built-in Time-of-Use (TOU) programming allows the SA-30K-3P to intelligently charge batteries during off-peak rate periods and discharge during expensive on-peak hours — automatically reducing the cost of every kilowatt-hour consumed. Multi-season scheduling with day-of-week granularity accommodates complex commercial rate structures, and all programming is accessible through the unit's interface or remotely via the monitoring platform.
Up to 10 SA-30K-3P units can be connected in parallel, scaling total system output from 30kW all the way to 300kW continuous — with up to 16 battery units per inverter. This modular architecture lets you right-size the initial installation to current load requirements and expand capacity in 30kW increments as the facility grows, without replacing existing hardware. One platform, one firmware ecosystem, from a small commercial building to a large multi-tenant facility.
Like all Sol-Ark systems, the SA-30K-3P ships factory pre-wired with AFCI, GFCI, rapid shutdown, and an integrated transfer switch — meeting NEC 2023 requirements without additional hardware. Installers arrive on site with a single enclosure that handles functions requiring multiple separate components from competing brands. The result is faster permitting, fewer inspections, reduced labor time, and a significantly cleaner final installation.
Built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity provide real-time remote monitoring and control with no additional hardware required. Track three-phase solar production, battery state-of-charge, grid import/export, load consumption by phase, and system health from any browser or mobile device. Sol-Ark's American-engineered firmware keeps all monitoring data on U.S.-based servers.
The SA-30K-3P comes standard with a 10-year warranty and is built to IP65/NEMA 3R standards for reliable operation in outdoor or harsh indoor environments. Operating noise is under 50 dB, making it suitable for installation near occupied spaces.
