About product

Among the newest offerings of Axitec, AC-450MH is part of the AxiPremium series. These panels use state-of-the-art technology to achieve high efficiency and dependability. This panel takes full advantage of the Passivated Emitter Rear Contact (PERC) technology that allows it to capture up to 12% more energy. All thanks to a reflective layer on the back. This design maximizes the number of photons absorbed by solar cells.

Another advantage is the half-cut cell technology. AC-450MH has solar cells half the size of those installed in conventional panels. The main benefits are decreased power loss, improved longevity and better low-light performance. At 20.7% efficiency, AC-450MH offers surprising performance for its weight and size. Axitec provides a 15-year product warranty. Stable power output is also guaranteed — performance warranty will protect you during 25 years.

  • 144 half-cut PERC cells
  • 450 W nameplate capacity
  • 20.7% efficiency
  • 1500 V DC maximum system voltage
  • MC4 connectors
  • 15 years of product and 25 years of performance warranty

More power and efficiency

An already high efficiency of 20.7% is further enhanced by PERC technology. By adding a solid PID resistance and special glass lamination on top, the manufacturer ended up with an efficient and very durable model. Under standard test conditions, AC-450MH outputs 450 W of power.

Better performance at high temperatures

An excellent temperature coefficient means more energy as temperature rises. Every 1.8°F hike above 77°F will decrease your panel’s efficiency by only 0.35%.

High quality standards

Axitec strict manufacturing standards include multiple tests to provide extreme quality assurance. The facilities are highly automated, allowing the company to maintain high standards and keep the level of warranty claims very low.

Reliability and degradation resistance

Slow degradation over the next 25 years is guaranteed by Axitec. The performance will decrease no more than 2% during the first year and 0.25% annually thereafter. Your modules will retain at least 85% of original performance after the 25 years are over. This 450 W Axitec solar panel also comes with a generous 15-year product warranty.

A panel that can handle hail, wind and snow

The 1.38" frame made from anodized aluminum and a layer of protective tempered glass make this module resistant to the foulest of weather. The front side of the modules can resist a 2400 Pa load, and the back side 2400 Pa.

AXITEC Solar Panels

Solar panels are an increasingly popular option for supplying electricity for various purposes. Recently, these extremely useful devices have become widespread in the USA. Solar panels can be found everywhere: on the roofs of high-rise buildings and private houses, greenhouses, and industrial facilities.

AXITEC solar panels are a perfect compromise between German quality and design and affordable price. In this AXITEC solar review we’ll talk about the company, features of AXITEC panels, price, mounting options and warranties.

About AXITEC

The German company AXITEC was established in 2001. For many years, the company has been one of the world's leading manufacturers of solar panels. The business strategy of AXITEC includes a complete technological chain for the manufacturing of solar cells: from development and production to quality control, sales, and service.

Headquartered in New Jersey, USA, as well as having additional storage facilities in California, AXITEC offers customers solar panels and fast service throughout the United States.

The efficiency of AXITEC solar panels

AXITEC Solar Panels are high-performance premium European PV modules that offer great power output in various weather conditions and under low irradiance. They achieve the highest efficiency (of up to 19.6%) due to half-cut cell technology and thorough testing of materials.

AXITEC features

AXITEC offers four types of solar panels:

  • AXIpower —high-quality polycrystalline solar modules with an efficiency of up to 17.21%, which provide great energy output at affordable prices.
  • AXIpremium— highly efficient monocrystalline solar modules with an efficiency of up to 17.83% and excellent performance in low light.
  • AXIblackpremium —sleek solar modules are ideal for installations where aesthetics must match high energy yields.
  • AXIpremium HC —solar modules with half cell technology have lower cell resistance and therefore higher performance than regular solar panels.

Quality and Reliability

From April 1st, 2018, AXITEC has been providing a 15-year warranty for all their solar modules, which is longer than most other solar manufacturers offer.

This has become possible due to the use of quality materials and constant quality control during and after production. Customers have trusted AXITEC since 2001 due to its high standards of quality and performance.

The warranty extension is the result of a very high level of quality of solar modules and low customer complaints. In addition, an intensive selection of individual components brings added value to the customer.

AXITEC also offers a 25-year linear performance guarantee with an annual degradation of 0.5%, with a guaranteed rated power of 97% for the first 12 months.

What mounting is suitable for AXITEC panels?

When mounting AXITEC solar panels, the installation location must be taken into account, and in the case of roof installation, the roofing material.

First, the most convenient and correct place needs to be chosen for the installation of solar panels. If the ground type of installation suits you, then there are two types of ground mounting: standard ground mount and pole mount. Standard ground mount uses a metal frame that is screwed into the ground to hold solar modules. Pole mounting is considered the most reliable type of mounting and can hold multiple panels.

If you plan to use the roof to place the panels, then you should think not only about the method of attachment but also about the roofing material. Most roofing materials are suitable for AXITEC solar panels with the metal roofs being the best choice and slate roofs being not ideal.

What is the price of AXITEC panels?

AXITEC solar panels prices can be described as affordable and competitive, in spite of the fact that it’s a German company that cares a lot about the quality of their products. We offer highly rated yet reasonably priced AXITEC solar panels that range in price from $190 to $220.

What cell types of AXITEC panels are the best?

Monocrystalline solar cells are considered the most advanced solar cells. They are made from a single silicon crystal, so they have much higher efficiency compared to polycrystalline cells: more than 22%. Thanks to their efficiency, monocrystalline panels take up less space than any other solar panels. Also, monocrystalline panels are more durable and have a longer lifespan than polycrystalline panels. The single silicon crystal in the monocrystalline panel does not age and has stable characteristics over the entire service life, only elements that surround the silicon deteriorate with time. And finally, monocrystalline solar panels tend to work better in low light and perform better in warm weather compared to polycrystalline panels. A while ago monocrystalline AXITEC solar panel price was much higher than the price of a polycrystalline module, but now the gap has narrowed. That’s why we strongly recommend picking monocrystalline AXITEC modules.

What conditions are suitable for AXITEC solar panels?

Due to AXITEC’s durability and reliability, their solar panels are made to withstand very harsh environmental conditions like heavy snowfall or strong wind. AXITEC solar panels work in any weather and even under a snow cover, due to its high sensitivity and excellent energy output.

The efficiency of AXITEC solar panels depends on light intensity. The better the illumination, the more energy solar modules will generate. But weather and climate conditions are no less significant factors that affect solar panel productivity.

AXITEC solar panels are designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -40 °F to +185 °F, however, the panels reach their maximum efficiency at lower temperatures.

What makes Axitec solar panels a good choice?

Axitec solar panels are known for their high efficiency, durability, and affordability. They use half-cut cell technology to improve energy output, have a strong performance warranty of up to 25 years, and are built to withstand harsh weather conditions, making them a reliable choice for residential and commercial solar installations.

What is the warranty on Axitec solar panels?

Axitec offers a 15 to 25-year performance warranty, depending on the model. The linear power warranty ensures that the panels maintain at least 85% of their original efficiency after 25 years. Additionally, they provide a 12-year product warranty for defects and workmanship.

Are Axitec solar panels Tier 1?

While Axitec is not classified as a Tier 1 manufacturer, the company has been in the solar industry for over 20 years and is known for German engineering standards. Their panels undergo rigorous testing, and many installers consider them a high-quality, cost-effective alternative to Tier 1 brands.

What types of solar panels does Axitec offer?
