Among the latest additions to Briggs & Stratton’s lineup, the PowerProtect PP13 home standby generator delivers automatic whole-house backup without the fuss of refueling portable units. Engineered for severe weather and long-duration outages, it seamlessly powers your home’s critical circuits the moment the grid goes down, then shuts itself off as soon as utility power is restored.

Producing 13 kW on liquid propane (or 11.5 kW on natural gas), the PP13 keeps refrigerators, sump pumps, HVAC systems, well pumps, and home offices running at the same time. Dual-fuel flexibility lets you connect to your home’s existing natural-gas line for “endless” runtime or to an LP tank for off-grid reliability.

The PP13’s robust starting capacity (up to 37 kVA motor-starting) handles central air conditioners, well pumps, and other demanding loads without dipping voltage or tripping breakers. The included 100-amp ATS isolates selected circuits from the grid, eliminating dangerous back-feed and restoring power in seconds.

A purpose-built 627 cc Vanguard V-twin runs at a steady 3,600 RPM for maximum efficiency. At half load it consumes just 119 ft³/hr of natural gas or 1.7 gal/hr of propane, helping keep operating costs low during multi-day outages.
