Canadian Solar CS3W MB AG is a PV module fit for both residential and commercial applications. Canadian Solar engineers made the BiHiKu series durable and efficient while minimizing the amount of useful space required for their operation. The Passivated Emitter Rear Contact (PERC) technology ensures excellent power output. This solar cell type employs an additional reflective layer to absorb more sunlight.
Another advantage is the half-cut cell technology. CS3W MB AG has solar cells half the size of those installed in conventional panels. The main benefits are decreased power loss, improved longevity and better low-light performance. The efficiency of this model reaches 20.4% — well above the market’s average. And while conventional panels use only one side to absorb photons, bifacial modules employ both sides at the same time. Thanks to the technology, this model can be up to 30% more efficient. Canadian Solar paid as much attention to durability as they did to performance. CS3W MB AG is guaranteed to retain at least 84.95% of output after 30 years. Product warranty for this panel lasts 12 years.
An already high efficiency of 20.4% is further enhanced by PERC technology. By adding a solid PID resistance and special glass lamination on top, the manufacturer ended up with an efficient and very durable model. Under standard test conditions, CS3W MB AG outputs 455 W of power.
A high temperature coefficient translates to more energy as the temperature rises. Every 1.8°F increase over 77°F reduces the efficiency of your panel by just %.
CS3W MB AG is subject to rigorous quality and reliability testing as well as many quality checks throughout the production process. The amount of power output loss experienced by these panels during the first year of operation will not exceed 2%. The average yearly power drop from the second to the 30th year will not surpass 0.45%. After 30 years, the module will still produce more than 84.95% of its initial output.
CS3W MB AG is PID, salt, acid, and ammonia resistant. It can also bear mechanical loads of up to 5400 Pa on the front and 2400 Pa on the back. This durability is mostly owing to the 1.2" thick anodized aluminum frame and a layer of protective glass.
