CS6W-MB-AG is part of the BiHiKu6 Series — one of the most recent made by Canadian Solar. These panels employ cutting-edge technologies to achieve superior efficiency and reliability. This panel takes full advantage of the Passivated Emitter Rear Contact (PERC) technology that allows it to capture up to 12% more energy. All thanks to a reflective layer on the back. This design maximizes the number of photons absorbed by solar cells.
Another advantage is the half-cut cell technology. CS6W-MB-AG has solar cells half the size of those installed in conventional panels. The main benefits are decreased power loss, improved longevity and better low-light performance. As a result, the panel achieves an impressive efficiency of 20.6%. And while conventional panels use only one side to absorb photons, bifacial modules employ both sides at the same time. Thanks to the technology, this model can be up to 30% more efficient. Canadian Solar provides a 12-year product warranty. Stable power output is also guaranteed — performance warranty will protect you during 30 years.
An already high efficiency of 20.6% is further enhanced by PERC technology. By adding a solid PID resistance and special glass lamination on top, the manufacturer ended up with an efficient and very durable model. Under standard test conditions, CS6W-MB-AG outputs 530 W of power.
A low temperature coefficient provides more energy output at high working temperatures. CS6W-MB-AG loses just -0.34 percent efficiency for every 1.8°F over 77°F.
CS6W-MB-AG is subject to rigorous quality and reliability testing as well as many quality checks throughout the production process. The amount of power output loss experienced by these panels during the first year of operation will not exceed 2%. The average yearly power drop from the second to the 30th year will not surpass 0.45%. After 30 years, the module will still produce more than 84.95% of its initial output.
PID, salt, acid and ammonia cannot harm CS6W-MB-AG. Furthermore, it has a mechanical load resistance of up to 6000 Pa in the front and 3600 Pa in the back. A layer of protective glass and 1.18" thick aluminum alloy frame are the primary reasons for its toughness.
