ok so my husband set this up with our solar panels after last year's ice storm knocked out our power for 6 days. we were NOT going through that again lol. its been running perfect since april. we run the fridge, some lights, and the TV off it at night no problem. honestly dont even notice the difference from grid power. customer service was really helpful when we had a question about the wiring. 5 stars no question
my battery lives in a pretty cramped mechanical room alongside the water heater and pressure tank. space is tight and I was worried about anything bumping into the terminals. the lid completely solves that. fits snug, doesnt pop off if something nudges it, and the base means the whole unit sits flat and level even though my floor definitely isnt. for a small accessory it made a real difference in how comfortable I feel about the install. happy with it
converted a sprinter van and spent a long time going back and forth on which battery to go with. ended up here and zero regrets. runs my fridge 24/7, a diesel heater controller, lighting, laptop, and a small inverter for the occasional power tool. been fulltime in the van since June and drove through the desert in July — temps inside the van were brutal but the battery was totally fine. charges fast with my 600W roof array. fits perfectly in the cabinet I built too, dimensions are exactly as listed which sounds obvious but some brands are off. love this thing
got this with my second battery and man it makes the whole thing look so much more professional. the base grips the floor real good, no wobble at all. lid snaps on tight. nothing complicated just does exactly what its supposed to do. if you got more than one of these batteries just buy the base and lid you wont regret it

How the components work together

The Rubix RRS51280 connects to the Sol-Ark inverter's 48V battery terminals via M8 bolt-on lugs (torqued to 18 ft-lbs). The inverter charges the battery through its MPPT solar input — accepting up to 19,500W of PV at up to 500Vdc open-circuit. The Stack Series Base positions the battery horizontally, the required orientation per Rubix, and supports up to 3 additional RRS51280 modules in the same physical stack for a single-stack total of 57.34kWh. Additional parallel stacks extend capacity further, up to 64 units and 917.5kWh system-wide, all fed through the same inverter. You will still need to source interconnecting DC cables, a DC fuse or breaker, an AC breaker for inverter output, and any conduit or mounting hardware required by your local installation code.
