About product

Among the newest offerings of Canadian Solar, CS6.1-54TM-450 is part of the TOPHiKu6 series. These panels use state-of-the-art technology to achieve high efficiency and dependability. The Passivated Emitter Rear Contact (PERC) technology ensures excellent power output. This solar cell type employs an additional reflective layer to absorb more sunlight.

To further boost the performance, Canadian Solar employs half-cut cell technology. Each of the panel’s 108 cells is only half the size of a traditional solar cell. This grants CS6.1-54TM-450 lower resistive losses and better shade tolerance. As a result, the panel achieves an impressive efficiency of 22%. Novel design solutions allow this panel to look as well as it performs. This model is just 1.38" in depth and is jet black with a sleek finish. The panel's functionality and durability are not affected by its aesthetic appeal though. Canadian Solar offers 25 years of product warranty and guarantees 87.4% of original performance after 30 years of operation.

  • 450 W power output
  • 108 half-cut PERC cells
  • 22% efficiency
  • 1500 V DC maximum system voltage
  • T6, MC4, MC4-EVO2 or MC4- EVO2A connectors
  • 25-year product and 30-year performance warranties

Increased power and efficiency

PERC technology improves on an already high efficiency of 22 percent. The manufacturer created an efficient and highly durable model by adding a robust PID resistance and unique glass lamination on top. CS6.1-54TM-450 produces 450 W of power under standard test conditions.

Heat-resistant performance

The heat is less of a threat with this module: with one of the lowest temperature coefficients in the industry, CS6.1-54TM-450 loses just -0.29% of efficiency for every 1.8°F above 77°F.

High quality standards

Canadian Solar strict manufacturing standards include multiple tests to provide extreme quality assurance. The facilities are highly automated, allowing the company to maintain high standards and keep the level of warranty claims very low.

Reliability and degradation resistance

Canadian Solar guarantees limited degradation over the ensuing 30 years. The performance will only degrade by a maximum of 1% the first year, and then only by a maximum of 0.40% yearly after that. After the 30 years are over, your modules will still show at least 87.4% of nominal capacity. A substantial 25-year product warranty is also included with this 450 W Canadian Solar solar panel.

Certified for the worst environmental conditions

CS6.1-54TM-450 is PID, salt, acid, and ammonia resistant. It can also bear mechanical loads of up to 8100 Pa on the front and 6000 Pa on the back. This durability is mostly owing to the 1.38" thick Black anodised aluminium frame and a layer of protective glass.

Outstanding all-black design

The panel features all-black design which looks great on any roof. The manufacturer ensures excellent cell color by special treatment and selection processes. Canadian Solar engineers use thinner wires to connect the cells together, and at a distance the surface of the modules appears smooth and uninterrupted.

The panels work well and produce a decent amount of power, but I expected slightly better performance in low-light conditions. Installation was smooth, and the quality seems excellent. Overall, a solid choice, but I wish they had slightly higher output in the winter months

While the efficiency does decrease slightly on cloudy days, the panels still generate a good amount of power due to their high-quality monocrystalline cells. Expect around 70-80% of normal output in partial sunlight.
if i purchase four 450 watt panels what controller do you advise
