can this be directed straight to the Grid, or does it need to goto envoy to work

While microinverters do not necessarily need Envoy, it is recommended to have, as it allows you to adjust the inverters and monitor the panels. Without it, microinverters just run on default settings. They work, but Envoy gives you more control.

I am installing the G6 350w panels can I use the IQ7 microinverters or do I need to use the IQ7+ microinverters?

IQ7 operation voltage is up to 49V so you should be able to use it with G6 350s.
