got it installed in october been using it every day since. no problems no weird noises no faults nothing. just charges up during the day and runs the house at night like its supposed to. floor mounted mine which was easy. midnite makes good products this ones no different. would recommend

fine where power is spotty and this 4.5kW unit keeps lights and fridge running. transfer is smooth and feels safe. its small enough to fit in tight spaces.

MidNite Pre-Wired Schneider-Electric XW Power Panels...
I was building my summer house from scratch and this is what I used. It might seem frightening to look at, but an all-in system like this actually saves you a lot of time. Midnite devices I know well and I trust them, Shneider inverters work without any accidents, so the product is quality.

Been using these for years. One of the best units out there. Outback used to be my favorite, but not any more. If you want the best wind controller, I recommend this model.

I purchased panels, batteries, an inverter and this controller here two months ago. The staff was very helpful and professional, their calculator is very convenient for sizing the system. The shipping took a little longer than expected due to some holidays, but it’s all good. nothing was damaged, nothing was missing. Good job!

Following an outage last winter I decided to build a back up power system. I bought four used solar panels and this Midnite Solar controller. Installing the Classic is very easy once all the other elements are in place. It has an RJ45 connector for remote monitoring from any device on the network.

Extremely pleased with the charger. At first I coupled it with a 12v inverter, now I am using a 48v. Works like a charm. I had been without electricity for three week due to a hurricane, but thanks to my small solar system I did well

My friend has solar as well, but he had no charge controller. so his battery was constantly overcharged and eventually it stopped charging at all. that’s when I saw that getting a regulator really makes sense if you want to save your battery. Plus it’s very convenient cause you see what’s going on with your system

I didn’t know that charge controllers were a thing, but read a couple articles on your website and they were quite helpful. My last two batteries did in fact die too quickly and for a good reason. Hope that now with a regulator the new one will last longer.

The regulator is fine. It’s well made, at least it doesn’t look like it’s going to break in the next second. the monitor is good, you can adjust the charging process and whatnot. It’s pretty efficient from what i’ve seen. solid product

I have 2540 watts of installed capacity, will the 150 be enough?

It will work if the voltage of your system is below 150 V. Also keep in mind that the maximum output current is limited to 96 A.

MidNite Solar Classic 150 controller has MPPT modes for solar, wind, or hydro. Power curves are user-adjustable. Includes a learning mode for self-optimization. Accommodates solar arrays with operating voltages up to 150 VDC. Offers features including arc-fault detection (not currently listed to UL 1699B) and Ground Fault Protection (GFP) which makes a separate GFP breaker assembly unnecessary.

Features

  • HyperVOC protects the controller when open-circuit voltage exceeds the operating voltage by a margin equal to or less than the battery bank voltage.

  • Can be stacked with other Classics to act as one large controller without a separate hub.
  • Built-in Ethernet, USB and RS-232 ports which allow two-way communication.
  • 32 MB of internal memory for data storage. The user can upgrade the firmware using downloaded files.
  • Sealing kit for protection from dusty or salt-air environments. Sealing can reduce output by up to 20%.
  • MidNite 300 VDC breakers are recommended for power-source voltages over 150 VDC. Make sure that the breaker fits into your DC power center, or use a separate MidNite Big Baby Box.
  • Two auxiliary relay outputs. AUX1 can be programmed to either be a 12 VDC output (200 mA max) or as a dry-contact relay (1 A max). AUX2 can either be a 12 VDC output, a logic input or a PWM signal output for diversion load control or for connection to a MidNite Clipper.

The Classic charge controller conforms to UL 1741 and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 107.1:2001/09/01 Ed: 3 (R2006) and is covered by a 5-year warranty. Dimensions are 14.9" x 6" x 4", and weight is 11.5 lbs for all units. Made in the U.S.A.
