SIL-420-QD is a model that uses several technologies to bring durability and performance to the next level. Silfab Prime NTC utilizes next-generation N-type solar cell technology. This solar cell type results in more power, improved efficiency and consistent performance for the lifetime of the panel.
To further boost the performance, Silfab employs half-cut cell technology. Each of the panel’s 108 cells is only half the size of a traditional solar cell. This grants SIL-420-QD lower resistive losses and better shade tolerance. At 21.5% efficiency, SIL-420-QD offers surprising performance for its weight and size. Novel design solutions allow this panel to look as well as it performs. This model is just 1.37" in depth and is jet black with a sleek finish. The panel's functionality and durability are not affected by its aesthetic appeal. Silfab provides an industry-leading 30-year performance warranty and a 25-year product warranty.
The highest power output is guaranteed by Silfab SIL-420-QD with an efficiency of up to 21.5%. Such outstanding performance is the product of Silfab Prime NTC Solar Cell technology. It uses an n-type wafer with a rear NTC passivation layer enabling better charge carrier collection while reducing recombination leading to improved efficiency. This is notably above average, translating into significant additional savings throughout operation.
At high working temperatures, a low temperature coefficient equals increased energy generation. Every 1.8°F over 77°F results in a model's efficiency loss of just -0.36 percent.
Silfab strict manufacturing standards include multiple tests to provide extreme quality assurance. The facilities are highly automated, allowing the company to maintain high standards and keep the level of warranty claims very low.

SIL-420-QD is PID, salt, acid, and ammonia resistant. It can also bear mechanical loads of up to 5400 Pa on the front and 4000 Pa on the back. This durability is mostly owing to the 1.37" thick anodized aluminum frame and a layer of protective glass.
