SIL-500-HM is part of the Silflab Commercial Series — optimized for commercial projects where maximum power density and superior performance is essential. These panels employ cutting-edge technologies to achieve superior efficiency and reliability. The Passivated Emitter Rear Contact (PERC) technology ensures excellent power output. This solar cell type employs an additional reflective layer to absorb more sunlight.
Another advantage is the half-cut cell technology. SIL-500 HM has solar cells half the size of those installed in conventional panels. The main benefits are decreased power loss, improved longevity and better low-light performance. Given its size and weight, SIL-500 HM efficiency of 21.0% is quite impressive. Silfab provides 25 years of product warranty and guarantees that after 30 years, performance will be at 82.6% or more.
An already high efficiency of 21.0% is further enhanced by PERC technology. By adding a solid PID resistance and special glass lamination on top, the manufacturer ended up with an efficient and very durable model. Under standard test conditions, SIL-500-HM outputs 500W of power.
Excellent temperature coefficient means more energy as temperature rises. Every 1.8°F hike above 77°F will decrease your panel’s efficiency by only -0.36%.
Silfab's strict manufacturing standards include multiple tests to provide extreme quality assurance. The facilities are highly automated, allowing the company to maintain high standards and keep the level of warranty claims very low.
The amount of power output loss experienced by these panels during the first year of operation will not exceed 2.9%. The average yearly power drop from the second to the 30th year will not surpass 0.50%. After 30 years, the module will still produce more than 82.6% of its initial output.
The 1.37" frame built of anodized aluminum and a layer of protective tempered glass make this module weather-resistant. The front side of the modules can withstand a 5400 Pa load, whereas the back side can withstand a 2400 Pa load.
