        48V power inverters work perfectly in 48V solar systems, which are usually either small commercial or large residential. These inverters are typically paired with 48V PV modules and batteries of a comparable voltage. 

        Wiring an inverter with the battery

        The process of connecting the battery and inverter rarely has any surprises and complications – just follow the instructions in the manual for your inverter 48V. If you don’t have a 48V battery, you can connect two batteries of 24 Volts in series, so that they have combined voltage.

        Sizing an inverter

        Sizing the inverter is easy – just compare the overall power of your array in watts to the capacity of your inverter 48V – it is also measured in watt. If an inverter is too small for your system, “clipping” starts – you’ll encounter the losses of electricity.

        Installing an inverter

        The installation of a grid-tie inverter can be performed only by professionals since you have to connect it to the grid. You’ll have to contact your utility company to let them know that you want to install an inverter.

        Solar inverter 48V needs a cool dry place where sunlight doesn’t reach it. The electronics inside it are very vulnerable, so learn to take good care of it. These simple measures will prolong the lifespan of your inverter:

        • clean the air filters
        • check connections to energy storage from time to time
        • wipe the dust
        • watch the monitor for error codes (inverters actually use software which is an another soft spot for them)
