About product

OutBack Power VFXR Inverter, 2.8kW, 12VDC, 120 VAC, 60HZ

The OutBack Power VFXR 2.8kW inverters are a good choice for an off-grid system. The ventilated OutBack Power inverters offer more power in high ambient-temperature applications, and more throughput for generator-powered battery charging.

The inverters have a programmable, auxiliary relay output connection (AUX) that provides 12 VDC output to run cooling or ventilation fans or to operate an external relay for other functions, such as remote generator starting (two-wire).

Up to 10 inverters can be stacked in parallel (120 VAC) or up to 8 inverters can be stacked in a series configuration (120/240 VAC). When stacked, all inverters should be the same model. The OutBack Power FXR 2.8kW inverters should be equipped with the MATE3s controller (or AXS Port) and the Hub10.3.

Features:

  • 2,800 Watt backup power
  • 90% peak operating efficiency
  • 7 different programmable operating modes, with generator assist
  • Remote temperature sensor included
  • 5-year warranty
  • Dimensions: 13" x 8.25" x 16.25"
  • Weight: 61 lbs.

Overall, it’s a good model for a camper van or a boat for its money. The efficiency isn’t the best, but it works well when it’s hot, the warranty is all right and it’s somewhat programmable. I picked two of these and they've been serving me for 6 months now.

Good day. Only if you have appliances that need AC to work.
Can you ship it to Mexico?

Good day. The shipment is available only in the continental US minus Alaska.
How do I install it? Can I do it myself? Do you offer installation services?

Good day. We don’t provide installation services. The inverter is usually installed by a certified electrician. If you want to connect it to your off-grid system, you can do it yourself provided that you possess necessary skills. You can find the guide on building an RV solar system in our Guides & Articles section. The installation process should also be described in detail in the inverter manual.
