We purchased this inverter from A1solarstore four months ago for our parking complex and since we’ve promised them a review, here it is. Overall, we are satisfied with the delivery and performance. The installation indeed was simpler than we anticipated. Our system is only 40 kW and the inverter handles it well. It is somewhat loud, but honestly, it’s not much of a problem for us. One of our employees can manage it though his smartphone, but so far there was simply no need for it.

I evaluated them not just based on their price, but also how much information those people giving me the quotes could give me about why they were choosing that system. I decided to go with A1 Solar by my impressions of how organized they were. The spec sheet notes "connection of MPPT inputs in parallel" and notes A and B* yet there is no explanation on the spec sheet anywhere of A and B. What does MPPT in parallel mean?

This mode is slightly more efficient overall when all connected panels are facing the same direction and receive similar sunlight conditions, essentially treating the two inputs as one large input.

Compatible with BYD high-voltage batteries, it enables seamless energy storage for self-consumption, load shifting, and backup applications, offering true energy independence.

Fast and simple installation

Engineered for streamlined setup, the Smart Energy inverter’s 2-in-1 design reduces wall space and wiring requirements. Installers can commission the system quickly using the SMA 360° app, which simplifies configuration via mobile scanning and connection. The built-in SunSpec RSD transmitter ensures rapid shutdown compliance without external devices, making installation faster and safer.

Reliable and intelligent performance

With a 10-year standard warranty (extendable to 25 years), the Sunny Boy Smart Energy delivers long-term reliability and low maintenance. The inverter’s integrated system manager allows centralized control of up to five inverters and an SMA Energy Meter. It includes SMA’s Backup Secure feature, providing up to 1,920 W of emergency power during outages—available even without a connected battery.

Smart connectivity and energy management

Powered by ennexOS, SMA’s intelligent energy management platform, this inverter offers full system monitoring via WLAN, Ethernet, Modbus, and RS-485.
