Solar systems with string inverters are the most popular choice among our customers. They are the most affordable, and perform very well in a typical residential installation. In a nutshell, string inverter systems consist of 3 to 6 strings, with each containing up to 12 solar panels. Typically, each string has a dedicated controller inside the inverter. This allows to maximize performance by applying different settings to each of the strings. It could be particularly helpful if the strings are installed on different sides of the roof or at different angles.
