LONGi LR4-72HPH 450w is a model that uses a number of technologies to bring durability and performance to the next level.
This module takes full advantage of half-cut cell technology for lower resistive losses and better shade tolerance. At the same time, a reflective layer on the back allows the panels to capture up to 12% more energy. By adding a solid PID resistance and special glass lamination on top, the manufacturer ended up with an efficient and very durable model that is guaranteed to retain at least 84.8% of output after 25 years.
An already high efficiency of 20.7% is further enhanced by PERC technology, which allows to harvest up to 12% more energy from the back side of the panel. The heat is also less of a threat with this module: with one of the lowest temperature coefficients in the industry, LONGi 450w loses just 0.35% of efficiency for every 1.8°F above 77°F. Half-cut cell technology adds a few more percentage points to the final count, making this model a great example of efficiency.
Careful module BOM selection and solar cell process optimization ensure solid PID resistance. Enhanced electrical design and lower operating current reduce the risk of hot spot formation and decrease resistive losses.
A 35 mm frame made from anodized aluminum alloy and 3.2 mm layer of protective tempered glass make this module resistant to the foulest of weather. These panels pass a hailstone test where they take on 1″ hail grains at the speed of 51 mph. The front side of the modules can resist a 5400 Pa load, and the back side 2400 Pa.
Slow degradation over the next quarter of a century is guaranteed by the manufacturer. The performance will decrease no more than 2% during the first year and then will be limited to 0.55% annually. Your modules will retain at least 84.8% of original performance 25 years later. The manufacturer also offers a 10 year product warranty.
