GStar Solar panels: Singaporean brand with efficient solar energy solutions

In this section of our website, we present you G-Star Solar panels. G-STAR Group started in Singapore in 2019. They make solar panels and provide solar system services. The company has offices in six places: Singapore (their main office), United States, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, and Laos.

GStar Solar handles everything from developing new products to making and selling them. The company sells their solar products in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Africa.

Why choose G-Star Solar panels

GStar Solar offers solar panels for all kinds of applications: home, business and utility-scale projects. Since it is a Singaporean brand, extra import tariffs for Chinese solar panels from the American government do not affect them and make the panels more affordable for US citizens. Finally, GStar solar panels have all the necessary safety certificates for installation, and come with a 25-year warranty for product. The company controls every step of production which often means better quality control.

Benefits of G-Star panels for your business

G-Star solar panels employ p-type cells, n-type cells and NPBC cells. Let us explain what these are.

  • Rapid fulfillment: P-type solar cells use boron-doped silicon as their base material. These cells have been the industry standard for decades because they were cheaper to produce and the manufacturing process was well-understood. However, they have some drawbacks - they're more susceptible to light-induced degradation (LID) and suffer from efficiency losses over time, particularly in hot climates.
  • Speedy delivery: N-type solar cells use phosphorus-doped silicon as their base material. These cells have several advantages over p-type cells: they're less sensitive to light-induced degradation, have better performance in low-light conditions, and generally maintain their efficiency better over time. They also have higher efficiency potential because the phosphorus-doped base material has better electron mobility. While historically more expensive to manufacture, improved production techniques have made n-type cells increasingly competitive.
  • Nationwide reach: In NPBC (N-type Passivated Back Contact) modules, all the metal contacts are moved to the back of the cell, leaving the front surface completely free to capture sunlight. This design eliminates front-side shading losses from metal gridlines and allows for better light absorption. NPBC modules typically achieve higher efficiencies than conventional solar cells, but require more precise manufacturing processes and typically come at a premium price point.

How to select G-Star Solar panels

Looking for solar panels for home? In that case, we recommend solar panels under 500W in power output. They are smaller and less susceptible to wind and hail. For commercial and industrial-scale systems, it makes sense to pick panels that over 500W in power output. For ground-mounted system, consider bifacial solar panels.

Efficiency of solar panels becomes important when you space is limited and you need a powerful system. In this case, look for panels that have over 22-23% efficiency. For hot areas, we recommend panels with HJT cells – they lose less efficiency in hot weather.
