Silver Metallization vs Alternative Technologies
Due to silver being an excellent conductor, PVSP has exceptional conductivity, which helps lower resistance and allows current to flow smoothly, thereby improving the cell's current collection efficiency. While Copper is a leading candidate because it is much more abundant and less expensive, while offering excellent conductivity, our silver content in solar panels remains optimized for maximum performance.
Our advanced solar panel silver paste technology creates thin lines called fingers. These fingers collect electricity from sunlight and move it out, ensuring efficient energy conversion. Using a 15 μm finger instead of 20 μm saves 5 mg of silver. It also makes the cell 0.14% more efficient.
