High Efficiency of up to 19.9%

Canadian Solar 400W CS1Y-400MS modules have a higher than average efficiency of 19.9%, which is achieved due to higher light absorption, innovative module design, and better shading tolerance.

Extreme Weather Resistance

Canadian Solar panels are designed to work well even under extreme weather conditions, being able to withstand heavy snow load of up to 5400 Pa and wind load of up to 2400 Pa. Operating temperature range is -40°F ~ 185°F.

High Reliability

Canadian Solar 400W CS1Y-400MS module features lower internal current and lower hot spot temperature, which adds to their outstanding reliability. Cell crack risk has been limited in small regions.

Easy Mounting

Reserved mounting holes allow for easier installation. Cables are optimised to be just the right length.

I purchased these panels half a year ago for my house in the countryside. A system even produces a little more than i expected. had to get a new fridge for the all the surplus

I’m in New York, there really isn’t a lot of sun here, but panels work surprisingly well. Electricity is expensive around here, so i expect these panels to pay off quickly. Thanks!

is there a detailed drawing how to secure the panel say on a 2x8 wood frame , with modules 69.6" x 39.2" o.c. since I noticed that this panels can be butt joint? without spacing,

We don't have such a drawing, sorry. Generally, it's your installer who takes care of this. You can check out our articles on installation of solar panels.
It has the voltage listed at 52.3v how would this work with a 12v system

You need charge controller.
I have a 500 watt inverter, its voltage is rated 10.5 to 28 vdc, will the single 400 watt solar panel work?

NO
Is it polycrystalline or monocrystalline?

Canadian Solar 400W Panel is a monocrystalline PV module.
I don't want to clean panels from snow in the winter. how badly it’s going to affect their performance? can they break under the snow?

Canadian Solar panels withstand snow loads up to 5400 Pa, so no, they won’t break. A thin layer of snow is not going to be an issue for their performance, but the thicker it gets, the more energy you lose.
Hello, i want to install these panels on top of my house, but there are no power lines nearby. How do i set up a system?

You can go for an off-grid type of system: panels aren’t connected to the grid and their energy is stored in the batteries. Find batteries in a corresponding section on our website.
